27th November - Our trip to the Sikh Gurdwara

This week we visited the Sikh Gurdwara in Luton and experienced an exciting look at daily life inside a Gurdwara. We were warmly welcomed, shown around, and taught about the traditions and culture that are practiced there each day. We were lucky enough to watch a prayer taking place in the main hall, where fascinating music was played on traditional instruments and a reading from the Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh holy book. We learned about why the Gurdwara is so important to Sikhs, what kinds of celebrations and events happen there, and explored Sikh traditions such as the 5 Ks, which we had already learned about in school, so we felt like experts! It was a fantastic trip that taught us so much and really supported our RE learning back in the classroom.

I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Miss Bulley
